Which online degree program(s) do you teach?

Career Highlights:

I became an adjunct teacher in 2014. I did not realize how much I would love teaching until I had that opportunity. After teaching for two semesters as an adjunct, I made a career change and left my job as a director of accounting and financial reporting to teach full time. I survived my doctorate program with four kids, a husband, and two pets. I have a very exciting research agenda in fraud prediction models and issues in governmental and nonprofit organizations.

  • Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students might not know.

I am a very determined person and have worked very hard to overcome obstacles in my life. I am a first generation student. I was raised by a single mother who only finished 2nd grade. Her deep sadness and regret for not being able to finish elementary school due to her family’s need for her on the farm fueled her determination and love for learning, which she instilled in me. I completed both my undergraduate and my MBA as a single mom of two kids. Continuing my education was the best decision of my life. It has helped me develop as a person and has provided me with many wonderful career opportunities. My children saw my hard work and dedication. It taught them the value of education. I am proud to say that my two oldest children have now graduated college and have begun their careers.
